What Our Participants Do: Step Up participants run or walk up the 25 stories (580 steps) in Norfolk's Dominion Tower. Multiple climb options are also available (25, 50 and 100 stories).

Who Participates: Anyone age 8 and older can climb. Youth, corporate, military or general teams may also participate. Joint youth fundraising activities are available to youth groups serving those 8-17 years of age.

Why Help: All proceeds from Step Up benefit The Up Center, which serves nearly 10,000 people in Hampton Roads every year. The agency's programs provide homes for children who have been abused, mentors for children in need, services for people with disabilities, counseling for veterans and much more.You can also join our mailing list (select Step Up 2012 General Interest) and we'll keep you posted.

Event Details

What:	Step Up Stair Climbing Event
When:	March 25, 2012 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Competitive participant start times: 9 a.m.- 100 story competitors 10 a.m. - 50 story competitors 11 a.m.- 25 story competitors Non-competitive participants, your start times will be emailed to you prior to the event.
Where:	Dominion Tower 999 Waterside Drive Norfolk, VA 23510 (Parking is available in the garage next to the building)

Participants:	1,000 participants expected, including members of the: General Public (children must be 8 or older to climb the stairs) Emergency Responders (firefighters, police, EMT) Military Youth Groups Corporate Teams Athletes

Cost:*	Adults Noncompetitive Entry: $25 Competitive Entry* (25, 50 or 100 stories): $35 Children (ages 8 to 17) Noncompetitive Entry: $15 Competitive Entry** (25, 50 or 100 stories): $15 Fees increase $15 on event day. *Space is limited. The 100-story race is limited to 100 climbers. The 50-story race is limited to 200 climbers, and the 25-story race is limited to 500 climbers.
Team Participation:	Want to climb with your comrades? Here are options just for you! Centurion Challenge: Race up 25 floors four times. The winning military team in the 100 story competition will be awarded our Military Centurion Award. Emergency Responder Challenge: The winning team in this 50 story challenge will be awarded our Emergency Responder Challenge Award.
